The treatment
What it is
The vein laser targets the hemoglobin inside visible vessels and areas of redness so the vessel closes and fades, without harming the surrounding skin. It treats spider veins and broken capillaries on the nose and cheeks, diffuse facial redness, and the flushing of rosacea.
How it works
The 1064 YAG wavelength reaches vessels below the surface. Each pulse heats and closes the targeted vessel; the body clears it over the following weeks. Most sessions take minutes.
Results and recovery
Mild redness for a few hours, then gradual fading of the treated vessels over two to six weeks. Some vessels close in one session; diffuse redness and rosacea are usually treated in a short series.
