The treatment
What it is
A chemical peel is a professional-strength solution applied to the skin to lift away damaged outer layers and signal fresh, even cell turnover underneath. Cass customizes the formula and the depth to your skin and your calendar: lighter peels brighten and smooth with little to no downtime; deeper peels work on stubborn pigmentation, sun damage, acne scarring and texture, and ask for a few days of recovery.
How it works
Your skin is cleansed and prepped, the peel is applied in controlled layers and timed to your skin's response, then neutralized or left to self-neutralize depending on the formula. A calming finish and sun protection complete the visit. The depth is decided at your consultation, never on the day.
Results and recovery
Light peels: a glow within days and mild flaking on days two to three. Medium peels: visible peeling for several days, then brighter, smoother, more even skin as it clears. Most plans use a short series, spaced weeks apart, and pair the peel with the right home care.
Good to know
How deep is the peel?
It is chosen for you. Depending on the strength, a peel can range from mild to deep, with recovery times varying accordingly. Cass tells you exactly what to expect before you book.
Will I peel?
It depends on the depth. Lighter peels may only flake; medium peels peel visibly for several days. Do not pick or pull at peeling skin; let it come away on its own.
Which concerns do peels treat?
Uneven tone, sun damage and brown spots, surface texture, fine lines, acne and post-acne marks, and dull skin.
A peel or microneedling?
Peels excel at tone, pigmentation and surface texture. Microneedling rebuilds collagen for scars, pores and fine lines. Many plans use both, at the right spacing.
Can I peel before an event?
Plan a light peel at least a week ahead and a medium peel two to three weeks ahead. Your consultation sets the timing.
Before your visit
- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids for about a week before your peel, unless told otherwise.
- Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner in the days before.
- Tell Cass about any history of cold sores, recent procedures or medications.
After your visit
- Do not pick or peel flaking skin.
- Use only gentle cleanser and moisturizer for the first days, and sunscreen every day.
- Skip exfoliants, retinoids, heavy sweating and heat until the skin has fully settled.
